Please see a list of questions that are commonly asked before attending a Physiotherapy consult. If you have any further enquiries, you can use the contact form listed below.
At your initial consultation, your Physiotherapist will first ask you about your past medical history, previous injuries, any current symptoms, and your goals of therapy. With this information, your Physiotherapist will perform an assessment by asking you to perform movements in standing, sitting or lying down. Following the assessment, your Physiotherapist will discuss their findings by providing an impression of the diagnosis, education about the diagnosis, time frames for recovery, and possible treatment strategies. Treatment strategies may include manual therapy (i.e.: stretching, joint mobilisation), massage, trigger point therapy, dry needling, and/or exercise prescription.
The best type of clothing to wear to your physiotherapy appointment is comfortable, loose clothing that does not restrict movement and allows access to your specific injury or pain problem. Further, any letters, scans and/or medical reports that support your past medical history will assist your Physiotherapist in understanding your specific case.
