Clinical Pilates encourages neuromuscular re-education in all planes of movement and functional positions. There is a strong focus on spinal stabilisation, but also strength, flexibility, proprioception and postural re-education. It is important to remember that each person has their own intricate weaknesses and these are often the reason behind an injury. It is designed to identify those weakness and encourage global and coordinated muscles activation to optimise treatment outcomes.
Private Pilates:
Private sessions are provided at our Mont Albert North clinic in a 1-on-1 format to enable increased individualised attention and correction of technique. You will work collaboratively with your Physiotherapist to identify your individualised goals. Your Physiotherapist will perform a detailed initial assessment and prescribe a home exercise program to complement your Clinical Pilates sessions. Your program will be determined based on your individualised goals and assessment.
Group Clinical Pilates:
Group classes are provided at our Mont Albert North clinic in a 3-on-1 format to encourage group participation whilst still working on an individualised program. The sessions are instructed by a Physiotherapist. Your Physiotherapist will perform a comprehensive initial assessment, understand your goals and past medical history to create an individualised program. It is recommended that a minimum of one private session is performed, before progressing to a group format.
